Our parenting education classes use Nurturing Parenting™, a nationally recognized "best practices" program. This Nurturing Parent Program is for parents of Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, Elementary age children and Teens.
The word nurture means to promote and nourish growth. The primary essence of nurturing forms the primary goal of the Nurturing Parenting Program: to teach parents to promote and nourish themselves, their children and their environment. To this end, the Nurturing Program addresses five primary issues:
1) Age-appropriate expectations and self-worth.
2) Responding empathetically to your child's needs.
3) Disciplining your child with dignity.
4) Self-awareness and appropriate family roles; and
5) Empowering your child and adults.
These classes are presented in a positive, supportive atmosphere for parents of children of all ages. Parenting classes focus on: Parenting skills training, Single parenting, Two-parent families, Parenting for blended families, Violence prevention, Positive discipline, Effective communication skills, Stress management, Sibling rivalry, Child development, Limit setting and consequences, and Parenting skills for grandparents.
